Our items are carefully made and checked before being packaged, however, if you discover a fault please message us including images of the item & fault (at least 1 close-up and 1 distant photo helps) at hello@designedfordogs.com
Unfortunately we are unable to accept returns of items that have been used and damaged.
Our products are well-made, rigorously tested and in many cases last for years, however this does depend a great deal on the dog & how they use it!
As the pet owner you are responsible for ensuring the item will be suitable for your pet prior to giving it to them. We are happy to accept returns of items in new, unused condition, and would suggest returning or changing any item if you think it may not be suitable for your dog.
We have also found that nothing is indestructible to a determined chewer, no matter how big or small the dog!
General Questions
This is simple - YES!
They are designed & made by our team in our Lincolnshire studio.
Where an item is not made by us i.e. poop bags, dog soaps, we have made sure the businesses we work with are ethically and responsibly made.
All our items have comprehensive size guides on the product pages.
Absolutely! As we make everything in-house we can also custom sizes and styles - in fact this is something we do a lot of! Please contact us with the sizes you need, style of bed, pictures of the space it is going in are really helpful too! Also delivery country and any other helpful info.
Please note that custom items take a little longer to make and are typically ready 1-2 weeks from order.
Since March 2020 our beds are now filled with memory foam crumb as our standard filling. This luxurious filling is made from mixed grades of the highest quality memory foam and is also more environmentally friendly - when premium 'people' beds are made the spare foam is shredded and this is used to fill our dog beds!
Hollow-fibre filling is still available on request but please note there is an additional charge for this.
The firm-foam beds are made from a combination of a supportive orthopaedic foam and memory foam layer.
Our fabrics are quality upholstery grade fabrics all with high rub-test scores. However some are tougher than others and our recommendations for scratching dogs are:
For outer fabrics the Tweeds & Tartans are the toughest with a tight weave & withstand scratching really well.
For the fleeces / furs the supersoft fleeces and faux furs are best for scratchers; the faux-sheepskin can shed.
Our fabrics are quality upholstery grade fabrics, however, they are fabric and therefore are not indestructible. They withstand scratching well but can be bitten through.
Yes we do - if you just need a zip replacing, or there is minor damage don't throw your bed away! If you can send a photo(s) and short description of what needs to be repaired we will advise if we can repair it and provide a quote. Then post back to us and we will repair and return it to you.
If the cover is too badly damaged you can purchase a replacement cover, or contact us if you just need a new inner cushion.
Den Beds & Snuggle Sacks
As a guide if your dog likes to snuggle under blankets they will almost always love a Snuggle Sack or Den Bed.
The key difference is our Den Beds have a cushion pad with the bed, whereas the Snuggle Sacks are like a sleeping bag for dogs. Both are lined with a fur or fleece the Snuggle Sacks are popular for customers to try out with their dogs before making the investment in a den bed.
All the covers on our Dog Beds can be removed and washed in a washing machine at 30c. Line dry - do not tumble dry. We recommend that you do not use fabric softener as this can damage the fibres.
The inner cushions are sponge clean only. If your dog is likely to lay on their bed when when & muddy, or simply to keep the bed fresher for longer we recommended a Waterproof Liner.
The Snuggle Sacks can be popped straight in the washing machine and washed at 30c. Line dry - do not tumble dry. We recommend that you do not use fabric softener as this can damage the fibres.
Pillow & Mattress Beds
It's all in the style! Both beds are available in the same, quality fabrics, with our orthopaedic & memory foam crumb inner cushion.
The Mattress Bed has a squarer edge to the bed and are 'true-to-size'.
The Pillow Beds have a softer, rounded edge, like a scatter cushion or bed pillow.
The inner cushions for these beds are therefore different so please bear this in mind if you need to order replacement covers or inner cushions.
